Tom Yum Goong 2 Servings: 4 cups water 1 cup shrimp 1 tomato 5 mushroms - Oyster Mushroms 1 lime 3 kaffir lime leaves 1 lemon grass 4 sprigs cilantro 1 table spoon chopped green onion 3 chilli peppers 1 table spoon nam prig pow (chilli paste) 2 table spoon fish sauce
Start boiling water in a pot. Cut lemon grass into pieces, 5 inches long. Pound the pieces just to bruise to release the flavor. Drop the lemon grass in the pot and let it boil for 6 minutes. Peel and devein the shrimp and set them aside.
Pound the chilli peppers and put them in the bowl you will serve the soup in. Add fish sauce and lime's juice into the bowl.
Put the kaffir lime leaves into the pot. Wash and halve the mushrooms and add them to the pot. Cut tomato into four wedges and put them in the pot. Add the shrimps to the pot and turn off the heat. Shimps should not be left in a hot boiling pot for a long time. Transfer the soup from the pot to the bowl. Add prig pow, cilantro and serve. Enjoy! |
